Who We Are
The Distributor is the student blog of Darul Qasim College. Launched in 2022, we aim to foster intellectual curiosity, creative expression, and personal reflection within our student community. Authored by current students and alumni of DQC, The Distributor’s content spans academic papers, reflective pieces, interdisciplinary ideas, critical reviews, and more, all grounded in the goal to connect classroom ideas to the larger world.
The Islamic intellectual heritage is sophisticated, complex, and rich. Its hallmark is a creative and critical engagement with knowledge and ideas, which is reflected in a robust tradition of authorship spanning centuries and regions. Poetry, commentaries, marginalia, critical pieces, rebuttals, compendiums, treatises, and the like served to preserve, transmit, and expand this heritage.
As inheritors of this great intellectual legacy, our platform draws on this tradition of writing, reflection, and engagement, and hopes to continue it.
The Distributor operates as an initiative of SAADQ, Darul Qasim’s Student and Alumni association, connecting current and past students through shared dialogue.
The Name ‘Distributor’
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ, the beacon of knowledge in the mortal world, said:
“Verily, I am only a Distributor (Qāsim), and Allah is the One who gives.”
